What are Torrechiara Castle's opening hours?
Tuesday to Friday 9:00 to 15:00, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 11:00 to 17:00. It is closed every Monday, on 1 January and on 25 December.
Last entry is 30 minutes before closing, when the ticket office shuts: 14:30 on weekdays and 16:30 at weekends. Visitors often complain that the weekday hours are short, so plan a weekday visit for the morning.

On busy booked days the Ministry of Culture describes visit slots of up to 45 minutes, with 15 people let in every 10 minutes, so choose a slot and arrive on time.

One ticket for the four sites the Pilotta runs: the Pilotta complex in Parma, Torrechiara Castle, the Antica Spezieria di San Giovanni and the Roman site of Veleia.

Is Torrechiara Castle accessible, and can children and dogs come?
Children are welcome and free under 18. Disabled visitors can enter, free, only with a companion, as some passages need help; dogs are not allowed, except assistance dogs.
The approach is an uneven stone path uphill from the car parks and the village, and the castle has steps between floors. Photos are allowed without a tripod.
